Video Title: Premiere Tutorial: Masking and Removing Objects
Hello everybody my name is max I’m gonna show you how to get rid of this person man he’s done now this tutorial is going to show you only the basics this is for you to just learn how to do it and you can get the ground and and start doing with your own
Stuff experimental stuff and eventually learn and get better now before you even gets editing there’s a few things you have to do in production so when you’re going out there and shooting you do have to make sure you have a background with no one in there and you want to make
Sure this is on a tripod nothing moving it’s best to do this in an indoor situation so you don’t have any waves moving in the background not that’s harder trees lighting shadows the stuff you can’t control outdoors so this is best to do indoors it’s a but that’s not
Saying you can’t do it outdoors as I’m going to show you right here now there’s a few no what you can’t do you cannot have your actors touching you want to make sure the shadows do not touch and especially keep your camera on a tripod
Now if you do want your actors to touch and hold hands all there is just for example punch each other as a ghost that’s a lot harder you cannot do that in Premiere it’s called rotoscoping you have to do with an After Effects and it’s very tedious and no one likes it
Now if your life you want to go do that go ahead go for it I’m not going to stop you but I’m just letting you know start with this then move on to bigger stuff got to learn your basics alright so we’re going to get started I already
Have my clip selected and in here now this is a very short clip because Sam with a filmer right here did actually forget to use this back to get a background no one in there so what I did at end of this end of the main clip
Right here i’ts there was a shot where no one was in here and I took that and kind of to loop reverse thing and it worked for the main video I’ll throw a few examples up here now as you notice in the court over there you can see the
Kind of the waves move back and forward it’s very tiny and subtle and how the videos got the end result I put a blur and then I did migraine effects over that as well as color correction in RGB distort and we’re gonna get started we’re going
To select this lecture top clip go to effects type in crop grab your crop drag it over there effect controls and we’re going to create a new mask what a mask is it’s just I don’t even know what it is but it does this it kind of creates
The Defiant layer it’s selecting what’s around it excluding it just draw around there make as many points you want you want to keep it simple you want to make sure it gets enough but you want to be pretty tight so you can’t see any of the waves or anything extra moving alright
So you go like okay nothing’s changed here still nothing click invert doesn’t do anything one thing with crop it’s kind of weird but all you do is throw left of any of these to 100 and it will BAM removing what it does it just kind of it
Defines where it should crop but because we have a mass you just want one of those to be at 100% all right so now he’s gone cool but there’s a little crease right there it colors it a little different well you want a feather sounds good like
20 maybe even 30 depends how your click this you got to define it by yourself now it was like okay that’s better name later when you can do when you enter loots and color correction yeah and I would fix it you won’t even notice it but your biggest culprits going to be
What’s in the background so if you don’t have a clip behind it that’s what you see your removed it completely in add a little shadow fade here that’s just the feather so you got to have your clip behind it in this list layer right here
Needs to be on the top alright so now I go in but what if you want to keep them well you just keep your mask hajiman see a little high a little low to kind of how you ever you want it and there you go now that’s the very easy thing to do
You can do a lot more except but when it gets more complicated as motion-tracking Premiere does have a built-in motion tracking feature which is this thing just not possible for the comm the program to make up what to track so I’m going to show you how to do a tracking
And it’s going to be manual all right so I got my clips here right now I have my one without them one with them all right so do the same thing effects crop drag it do your mask and for this one let’s remove and as well
And this one you might want to put a little more little points here I’m not exactly sure what they’re called let’s go with that you do need a zoom out so right so you can actually clip out here now I might have went a little overboard
With this but it’s it in the long run is better to do that all right so let’s go all the way in and let’s start tracking all right now that’s when you can kind of get away a lot more now as you can see that it goes out of frame and if you
Are just moving there it would be blocking maybe cutting off Sam right here so in order to do this you need to go to mass path make sure this is checked a little stopwatch right here and we’re going to move forward on here and there we go got out and just start
Moving all of these now that this does this starts keyframing if you don’t know what key framing is really should by the way if it’s kind of the basics of everything I’m not gonna really explain that too much because I’m probably gonna confuse you more but it just creates
Some these little it creates these little markers kinda in the timeline to tell hey you should move over here so creates these markers and as we go along we’ll just start moving them so right here I make sure I want to zoom in bit with that I’d do that and play it back
You can see just moving with it as a sign right there and just continue on like that it’s as simple as that then you do your same thing do that of course your video clips not under there and invert it that didn’t do it because I am Keith
All right so I just did it I spent a little time going along keyframing miss the best way to how to see a work in action you see I’m kind of scaling down it’s not that great but actually I didn’t notice right there but Sam does
Bump into it the frame a little so you want to go back just go frame by frame move it there a little more and that fixed it just starts moving a long time when I’m creating these little key frames over here so now when we put this into action actually because this one
Was the same way Sam never did the whole kind of did that the whole video just do that now that’s one nothing’s really breathe moving or anything so you don’t really notice too much when it flickers and we do the same thing now they’re walking together we can invert it change
River so I was it’s very simple very easy this video was just maybe to get your foot in the ground learning so you can play with your own in order to get a better at this you need to start practicing just do random project go outside create a little film and then
Come back and sign just edit for fun I do that sometimes it really helps you got to learn go on YouTube find more tutorials learn a bunch of stuff that’s how you get better it’s all those practicing and when you screw up even you learn oh you can do that or you find
New ways to create effects and visuals so please let me know if anything I did wrong in here or if I could do something better let me know in the comments don’t just tell me it sucks because I already know that but anyways peace you

i left a like on this video solely based on the first 5 seconds
I want remove background pls guide me
Champion – THANKYOU
Great
will this work with a tittle text
Idk if you will reply but would this allow me to for instance, only include a person or fictional character from an image without including the background?
how does this compare to the content aware fill in adobe after effects? i am simply trying to remove a mouse cursor from a gameplay video I recorded. the mouse cursor does not move, it is always in the same place. Would they both work for my purposes?
I dont have the mask option, please help!
thank you this helped me with a stupid joke in my video
HAHAHA, FUNNY, EVERYONE WOULDN'T SEARCH FOR THIS METHOD IF WE HAVE SPARE FOOTAGE LYING AROUND WITHOUT THE PERSON OR THE UNWANTED OBJECT, I BELIEVED YOU DIDN'T REMOVE ANYTHING FROM HERE, OVERLAYING A FOOTAGE FROM AN IDEAL FOOTAGE IS NOT FIXING IT, BUT RATHER ENHANCING IT, WELL THIS IS A PRETTY OLD VIDEO, WHO AM I TO COMPLAIN?
When I put my two clips one on top of the other, it turns like red and black
Thanks for amazing tip , you gave an idea and I manipulated according to my requirement #471
What's the music background? Tks
Which version of premiere pro are you using
What if both moving object did cross each other? how to remove one of them?
NO TOUCHY
Quite helpful, thanks a lot!
can we remove watermark with this technique
Tutorial starts at 2:11
thanks for the help. Praying for you. Christ be with you.
I don't have the clip that doesn't have the mask that I want to remove
"Throw any of these to 100.." – that's the magic I was looking for! Thanks! (weird functionality Adobe, but I guess it makes sense)
Love that intro XD
Any one knows how to remove a camera reflection for a mirror
Well i added the crop and masked the object. But now, i am having black instead of the background. What am i doing wrong?
How do I remove a moving text from a video guys?
FINALLY i find a tutorial that tells me what to do! THANK YOU! crop was just what i needed ;-;
try to speak slowly not everyone can understand if you talk to fast, specially if your doing tutorials and explaining things 🙂 peace out
I am a newbie to cc version of premiere and after adding the crop mask when I click on my video to crop something out nothings happens. This is on the copied layer of the video video 2 what am I doing wrong? Or are there thing I need to setup when using cc for the first time?
for some reason in premiere pro cs6 there isn't a pen tool under the crop tab?
